About Trust
Central India Institute for Education and Cultural Development (CIICED) is a registered trust under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 and Maharashtra Societies Act 1860. The trust is registered in the office of the Charity Commissioner, Nagpur in the year 1996. The trust is established under the able guidance of Dr. Jayant Patil Gangrediwar, a known personality in academic field in the region. Dr. Jayant Patil Gangrediwar is professor by profession and keenly interested in providing quality education of world standard to the under privileged children and youths of rural region specially tribal region of the state and nation. He is also keenly interested to establish and build up interaction amongst the society, industry and institute. He along with some co minded associates form the trust to spread the seeds of education to the door steps of society living in rural and tribal region.!
The aim of the trust lies at the emergence of an egalitarian and integrated society, which speak volumes about the dreams that every committed educationist in India has a determination of providing quality education against the backdrop of diverse socio-cultural, geographic, economic and educational divide. Greatly influenced by Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda, trust believes that it is only the mental empowering and not the system of governance that can change the society and the world. As per their philosophy human being posses four dimension of power – physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual. Good quality education must empower a person in all the four dimensions. As Swami Vivekanand said:!
“We want an education by which Character is formed,! Strength of mind increased, Intellect is expanded and! by which One can stand on one’s own feet.”!
The need of the hour lies in building up people with character, integrity, good values and positive attitude. This will be applicable only when we have the right foundation. This very aim inspired the management of the society, to strive for excellence and quality in education through constant innovation in all facets of life. It is known fact that good, efficient and talented citizens of any nation can lead the nation towards prosperity and the society of the present day is in state of great and dynamic transformation, than ever before. The rapid globalization process is changing the earlier agro based and industry-based society. The industries have shed their conventional form and are equipped with IT based profile to face the global competition for their survival. Hence the need of today is to create the qualitative and competitive youths to stay ahead in this competitive era of IT based industrial society on one side and to provide access of quality school, higher and technical education to the rural tribal youths who are deprived from the facilities available to the urban youths.!
Certainly the complete education system needs overhauling which is a matter of policy and again goes in to the hands of our governing systems who are responsible for the condition prevailing. But some one some how needs to start somewhere. Central India Institute for Education and Cultural Development (CIICED) recognized this responsibility and come forward to find out the solution. CIICED has started its work and tried to establish institutes of education in tribal region of eastern Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. CIICED along with a CO-NGO, Semana Vidya Va Vanvikas Prashikshan Mandal commonly known as SVPM Group of Institutes established number of primary, secondary and higher education institutes in the region.
